![]() Guernica was painted by Pablo Picasso, depicting the bombing of Guernica, Basque Country, on April 26, 1937, during the Spanish Civil War. It represents the effect of war on civilians and the innocent. Guernica is blue, black and white, 3.5 metre (11 ft) tall and 7.8 metre (25.6 ft) wide, a mural-size canvas painted in oil. This painting can be seen in the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid. The video below represents an exploration into Picasso's painting, meant to help one travel through all the very significant details of this work as if it had been created in 3d. It is certainly an interesting use of technology that allows us to perceive this incredible painting and its stunning details from a different perspective. |
